2026 Corrective Board of Directors Election

Your Vote Matters

SJP Federal Credit Union invites all members to participate in our 2026 Corrective Board of Directors Election, which will be held in conjunction with Member Appreciation Day.

We are pleased to have an outstanding group of members interested in serving on the Board of Directors. We encourage every member to review the candidate biographies below and cast a ballot.

4:15 PM – 7:00 PM

🎉 Member Appreciation Day:
4:00 PM – 7:30 PM

✔️ Members may arrive at any time during the voting period.

✔️ Please check in upon arrival.

✔️ After voting, members are invited to enjoy Member Appreciation Day festivities, including food, refreshments, and family activities.


About the Corrective Election

Following a review of the Credit Union’s election procedures, the Board of Directors initiated a corrective election to ensure the election process is fully aligned with the Credit Union’s governing bylaws and election procedures.

This election provides all interested members with an opportunity to seek office while ensuring a fair, transparent, and orderly election process.


Board of Directors Candidates

There are five (5) Director positions to be filled. Members may vote for up to five (5) candidates.

Nicholas Battaglia (Incumbent)
A current Board Member and member of the credit union since 2004. Network Administrator for the University at Buffalo School of Management.  Nick currently serves on the Employee Relations and Budget Committees and is the Chair of the IS&T and Membership Committees. He earned his bachelor’s degree in management information science from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Adam Brasky
Adam is a partner at Rupp Pfalzgraf LLC, where he represents banks, credit unions, and businesses in commercial and consumer loan recovery, foreclosure, and risk management matters. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from King’s College, where he was a four-year member and senior co-captain of the men’s basketball team. Adam currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of Healthy Buffalo and is a member of the SUNY University at Buffalo School of Law Alumni Board. He has been recognized as a Buffalo Business First 30 Under 30 honoree and an Upstate New York Super Lawyers Rising Star.

Sally Forgette (Incumbent)
Current Board Member and a member of the credit union since 1971. Sally earned her Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Office Assisting from Erie Community College – North Campus. She worked for over 25 years in the medical field as a Medical Office Assistant and Medical Office Manager. In 2007, she joined Delaware North in the Shareholder Relations Department, where she worked as an Associate Executive Assistant until her retirement in December 2024. She currently works part-time at a local dermatology office as a Medical Secretary.

William ‘Bill’ Hartnett
Bill is the owner of Mustachio’s Pizzeria, a locally owned small business serving the Buffalo community for more than 30 years. Through his work as a business owner, Bill has built long-standing relationships with families, schools, churches, and community organizations across the area. In addition to operating his business, Bill is known for supporting local fundraisers and youth programs and for maintaining strong ties within the community. His experience as a small-business owner provides firsthand knowledge of customer service, financial management, and the challenges facing local businesses.

James Maguire (Incumbent)
A member of the credit union since 1992 and a Board Member since 2006.  Jim serves on the Steering and Planning Committees and is the Chair of the Supervisory Committee. Jim is the owner of Quality Builders and Restoration.  Jim has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Nichols College.

LaMont A. Singletary
A member of the credit union since 1999. LaMont is the President of ABC Cleaning Services and has more than 40 years of experience as an entrepreneur. He currently serves on several nonprofit boards and community initiatives, including the City of Buffalo Entrepreneur Mentorship Program, Penny’s Totes of Love, and other organizations supporting underserved youth and families. His experience includes business leadership, community engagement, and mentoring entrepreneurs throughout Western New York.

Thomas B. Slocum
A member of the credit union since 2015. Tom is retired and brings more than 30 years of business experience. Throughout his career, he developed extensive experience in business operations and leadership. He is interested in serving on the Board to contribute his business experience, continue learning, and help support the long-term success of SJP Federal Credit Union and its members.

Gregory Wichtowski (Incumbent)
Current Board Member and a member of the credit union since 1987. Greg has served on the Board of Directors continuously for over 35 years and is the current Board President. He has served on the Membership, Supervisory, Credit, and Compensation Committees. Greg earned his bachelor’s degree from Canisius College in 1973.

 Lynn R. Wright
A member of the credit union since 2002. Lynn is a retired accountant with experience as a business owner, consultant, tax preparer, and former IRS Revenue Agent. She has served on several nonprofit boards and committees, including the Sacred Heart Academy Alumnae Board, the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation fundraising committee, and as Treasurer of the Carlton Community Heart and Soul Foundation. Her professional background includes accounting, finance, leadership, and nonprofit governance.

Who may vote?

All eligible SJP Federal Credit Union members in good standing.

How many candidates may I vote for?

You may vote for up to five (5) candidates. Ballots containing votes for more than five candidates will not be counted.

Do I have to stay after voting?

No. Members may vote and then enjoy Member Appreciation Day or leave at their convenience.
